To take part in this summit, we request that…

  • You’ve had academic-level music training, or an equivalent of informal training;
  • You have experience leading music activities;
  • You currently work with or want to work with displaced people or in an allied field;
  • You’re interested in using music for social change at the grassroots level.

HYBRID EVENT

As a result of the pandemic, this event has taken on a hybrid form: in addition to the (offline) summit itself, we’re hosting online pre-summit sessions to invite experts who otherwise would be unable to share their knowledge and experience. The pre-summit sessions introduce big topics that continue during the summit, so we highly recommend joining them.

COVID-19 precautions

We’re following the health and safety guidelines for coronavirus as mandated by the Dutch government. We work in close collaboration with our training venues and partners to adapt our trainings to fit these guidelines.

International participants should bear in mind any necessary requirements for entering the Netherlands. We advise all participants to take out a robust travel insurance policy and to only book fully-refundable travel. Participants will be informed at a minimum of one month’s notice regarding any postponement or cancellation of the program.

Where is the Music Leadership Summit taking place?

Akoesticum is a unique center in Ede, The Netherlands, with state of the art instruction spaces for performing arts, educational programs in music, dance, and theater, a restaurant, and on-site accommodation.

Akoesticum is wheelchair accessible.

Does the location accommodate special diets and allergies?

Yes, dietary needs and allergies can be accommodated by Akoesticum and should be communicated two weeks in advance of the training.

Do I need to bring an instrument?

You absolutely can bring an instrument if you’d like, but it’s not required for the Summit.

Where am I staying during the Music Leadership Summit?

Akoesticum has on-site accommodation for all participants of the Summit. Rooms are single occupancy and include a private bathroom. Please contact us if you’d like to arrange to share a room (for example for couples or families).
